AUD/USD erases weekly gains

FXStreet (Córdoba) - AUD/USD broke below 0.8125 and printed a fresh daily low at 0.8110 as greenback climbed across the board.

AUD/USD testing short term support

The pair is trading around weekly lows testing an important short term support located between 0.8110 and 0.8100, area that capped the downside on December 24 and also on Monday. A break lower would exposed 2014 lows that lie at 0.8085.

The aussie eared weekly gains versus the US dollar in a few trading hours. On Wednesday it was trading at the strongest level in almost two weeks above 0.8200 but then reversed and dropped more than 100 pips from the highs.

To be effective, QE would probably have to be EUR500-750bn – ANZ
